Global fund and asset management industry leaders discuss trends and challenges at the 34th IIFA Annual Conference


October 25, 2021 (Toronto, Canada) – The 34th Annual Conference of the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA) was held last week in Toronto, Canada. The virtual event, which was hosted by the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC), brought together approximately 100 representatives from fund associations across the world to discuss the pressing issues facing the industry today.

“The IIFA conference provides an important opportunity for the global convergence of industry experts and thought leaders helping to shape the industry,” said José Carlos H. Doherty,” IIFA Chair and CEO, Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association. “We were pleased to hold this year’s event in Toronto, Canada, one of the premier financial centers in the world.”

IIFA Members attended the event on October 19 and 20. In addition to two key note speakers, there were four panels with leading experts exploring a range of topics, including: the medium and long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on international markets; the promotion of ESG objectives through asset management; IOSCO Committee 5 priorities and focus areas; and innovations in client service.

The 2022 conference will be hosted by the Investment Association in the United Kingdom.
