Meet Our New Team Members
We are pleased to announce the addition of new senior talent to the IFIC Executive team as part of our expanded mandate.
We’d like to welcome Daniela Follegot as the new Vice-President, Asset and Wealth Management, Todd Evans as Vice-President, Capital Markets, and Ed Kay as our Director, Capital Markets .
Daniela will lead and expand our advocacy efforts for retail manufacturing, asset management, and distribution. She brings to IFIC a wealth of experience and expertise in the industry, including her past role as legal counsel at the Ontario Securities Commission and experience supporting TD’s asset-management and wealth-management businesses. Most recently, Daniela was Managing Counsel and Director within the RBC Law Group where she was a key legal advisor to the RBC Canadian Wealth Management businesses, providing leadership on core strategic initiatives.
Daniela is a recognized thought leader within the Canadian securities regulatory sphere, consistently lending her insights to industry group discussions and dialoguing with regulatory authorities. Her leadership and expertise will help strengthen IFIC’s role as the voice of the investment and securities industry.
Daniela joins IFIC on February 18.
Todd will lead IFIC’s capital markets advocacy efforts, particularly as they relate to various financial instruments, in addition to capital formation, trading and settlement. His expertise and broad experience in fixed-income markets, portfolio management, and regulatory advocacy will be instrumental in serving the evolving needs of our members.
Todd has a background in regulatory advocacy and thought leadership while serving as the Managing Director with the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC), and more than 20 years as a fixed-income trader at several large Canadian dealers as well as a pension fund. He holds an MBA in finance from McMaster University, a BA in administrative and commercial studies from Western University and holds his CIM designation. He has also completed numerous courses through the CSI, including CSC, CPH, PDO, derivatives fundamentals and futures licensing.
Ed joins IFIC as Director, Capital Markets, bringing over two decades of distinguished experience in capital markets and wealth compliance risk management across multiple asset classes. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer at ATB Capital Markets where he oversaw compliance, anti-money laundering, and privacy programs across Canadian and U.S. markets. Prior to that, Ed held senior leadership roles at small and large domestic and foreign investment dealers in Canada as well as the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC).
A graduate of York University with a BA in math for commerce, he has also completed numerous courses through the CSI, including CSC, CPH, DFOL, PDO, and CCO, as well as FINRA’s series 7 and 24 exams.
Todd and Ed’s combined experience in regulatory advocacy, compliance, and governance will be pivotal in advancing IFIC’s vision for the future of capital markets.
Todd and Ed both join IFIC on January 27.
