Compensation Survey

IFIC members are invited to take part in the annual Mutual Funds Industry Compensation Survey that reviews salary and incentive information for more than 90 industry-benchmarked positions.

The survey is endorsed by IFIC and conducted in partnership with Korn Ferry Limited (CA), a global organizational consulting firm with extensive experience in conducting surveys.

The positions to be reviewed, ranging from entry-level to CEO, are clustered into nine job families:

• Corporate Service
• Finance
• Fund Accounting
• Fund Administration
• Human Resources
• Information Systems
• Portfolio Administration
• President and CEO
• Sales and Marketing

The survey is open to IFIC Members only and only those firms that participate receive survey reports. All data submitted by participants is handled with complete confidentiality by Korn Ferry –  neither IFIC nor other Member organizations will have access to your data, and data is reported in a manner that ensures that individual organizations are not identified.

There are two modules available for purchase:

Module 1 (Standard Report) includes:

• Position data – base salary, annual bonus/incentives
• Incentive plan design – short term (annual)
• Compensation practices such as employee turnover, actual salary increases etc.
• Non-cash compensation (benefits, perquisites) and Incentive Prevalence Report

Module 2 includes:

• Position data – base salary, annual bonus/incentives, long term incentives
• Incentive plan design – short term (annual)
• Incentive plan design – long term
• Compensation practices such as employee turnover, actual salary increases etc.
• Non-cash compensation (benefits, perquisites) and Incentive Prevalence Report.

The standard fees include the costs of in-person meetings with Korn Ferry to review and assist with job matching and survey completion. There are discounts available to organizations that participated in the survey in any of the previous three years. The program typically kicks off in February of each calendar year with the final report completed in September.
